This is an innovative site which gives users and designers the opportunity to test a user interface. Participants are given 5 seconds to identify and tag key elements on a web page. User feedback is then collated and graphed in a report for designers – an excellent feature.
This type of cheap and dirty user testing, however, needs to be taken with a grain of salt. Testing a user interface in 5 seconds on random people can be a bit like shooting in the dark. To fully test a user interface, participants need to complete a task within a particular scenario. This type of 5 second testing would fit visual design and ad campaign testing better.
Nevertheless, thumbs up to fivesecondtest for this innovative site which encourages user testing. I can see the potential!
